What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are read back by the site itself; some are read by companies whose tools the site uses. Websites also store things in your browser without using a cookie at all — the same idea under a different name — and everything on this page covers both.
Why do we use cookies?
Some are needed for FlexNation to work: to know you are signed in, to carry a payment through, to issue a QR pass, and to remember the privacy choice you make. Others are optional. Those help us see how the site is used so we can fix what is broken, and they are set only if you allow them.
Types of cookies we use
Strictly necessary. A session cookie keeps you signed in — HttpOnly and Secure, so no script on the page can read it. Organizers signing in to the admin site get a separate one, so signing out of one does not end the other. Alongside it, your browser holds the cookie choice you made and a note that stops the page reloading itself in a loop after a failed script load. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences. Whether you chose the light or the dark theme, and the currency prices are shown in — display only, what you are charged is always in INR. These stay on your device.
Analytics. Set only if you allow them, and not loaded at all on profile setup, receipts, verification or payment screens. Google Analytics counts visits and tells us which pages people arrive on. PostHog receives the specific events we send it — a registration finished, a checkout started — so we can see where people get stuck; it runs with autocapture and session recording switched off, so it never records a screen or a form. We also use Sentry to catch errors, which sets no cookies.
Cookies set by other people
Only Google Analytics and PostHog set anything here, and only after you allow analytics. Organizers running events on FlexNation cannot add cookies or tracking of their own — anything they write for an event page is stripped of scripts before it renders, so there is nothing of theirs on your device to disclose.
Payments are handled inside the payment provider’s own window. What happens there is governed by their policies, not this one.
How long they last
The sign-in session lasts a day. The theme, currency and consent choices stay until you clear them or change them. Google Analytics cookies last up to two years, PostHog’s up to one. Clearing your browser data removes all of them.

Your browser settings can also block or clear cookies. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will break sign-in, registration and checkout.
How often will you update this Cookie Policy?
Whenever what we store changes — a tool added, a tool removed, a purpose changed — and for legal or operational reasons. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed. In August 2026 we removed Microsoft Clarity and Google Tag Manager; the page changed the same day.
